Has anybody stayed at or visited for day use the Ashurst Lake/Forked Pine campgrounds at Ashurst Lake?

What was your sense of the place as far as campsite quality? I mean is it likely to get a waterside camp spot going up on a Friday? How heavily used is this place?

Thanks in advance for any information one may provide. Very Happy

I have been there twice. It does get windy. I enjoyed the campground, I suggest the Ashurst Campground, it has more shade the Pine Grove. The bathrooms are clean and the campground does get busy, so go as early as you can. It seemed to be quiet, but it is always different for everyone. The host is nice too!

When you take the dirt road, turn right, and take another right into a circular campsites, those are nice ones, the ones on the water, which is a few, are always taken. We just tent it.

Thanks Anne!

We ended up staying in the "Forked Pine" campground. It rained like cats and dogs both nights and the fishing was non-existent unless one counts the sun-burn my buddy caught.

Vic was the camp host. It was a clean and well run campground. We got a site with a straight shot to the water and fished a point on the lake--no luck Confused
