Spent last week at Dead Horse State Park, stayed in one of the cabins. Sunrise hike along the Verde, breakfeast in Old Town Cottonwood, mtn. bike in the morning, lunch in camp, off roading or hiking in the afternoon. Supper in town or out in the field. Leaves have not started to change yet but close. Did not take many pictures, an excuse to return.

Such a beautiful area! I love looking at Dead Horse State Park from across the canyon in Canyon Rims National Recreation Area. It’s free, but offers amazing views of the state park. Cool

You were looking at Dead Horse Point State Park in Utah from Canyon Rims National Recreation Area. If you visit Mingus Mtn South of Jerome, Arizona you can view Dead Horse State Park.

Thanks...I never realized there were two "dead horse" state parks. I appreciate the correction! Cool

I did not know either when I told some coworkers of my camping trip and they asked how long it took me to get there. Three hours was my reply, they thought I flew until we got on the "same page". It took me nearly fours hours to return home from that trip, I stopped at Rock Springs Cafe North of Phoenix for pie.
