Hey all, I had my knees replaced about 6 months ago and as a celebration for the awesome recovery I am plannng on weatherford , top out then down to Snowbowl and around on Kachina trail .

Kinda depends on a number of things, like weather and time of year. Now, it's probably a two nighter (with snowshoes). In the spring and summer, maybe an overnighter..

Did that very hike a couple years back in September. We completed that in 1 day, but it was a pre-sunrise to post-sunset day. If you mean "top out" by summitting Humphreys, then that's exactly what we did.
Would have been more enjoyable as a backpack one-nighter, though you'd have to bring water along at that time of year. If you do that loop in late spring/early summer, you could find some snowmelt and make it a two-nighter without having to carry a ton of water. _________________ Mountains complement desert as desert complements city, as wilderness complements and completes civilization. - Ed Abbey |
