Deanda and I are hiking into Grand Canyon this month with 4 other people. We're staying two nights at BA campground and one night at IG campground. I'd like recommendations for cool sub-hikes from Phantom Ranch. Three of the group are strong hikers and we would love to do something cool. The other three may do something else like Ribbon Falls. I've never spent so much time there, typically jogged through, so I've never researched for cool side hikes. Any suggestions? _________________ It is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. -- Carl Sagan |

The Clear Creek trail is nice, even if you don't go all the way. Views of the river. |

Utah Flats and explore Phantom Creek.
Clear Creek is definitely an awesome destination for strong hikers -- you guys might even catch fall color there --- Once at Clear Creek its an easy hike to the river ( make sure you have enough time) & see Buchart falls _________________ Photos: http://www.pbase.com/desertgirl/galleries

Thanks for the suggestions. Clear Creek sounds good. I found descriptions for both Clear Creek and Utah Flats online. I'll check with my brother on these two. Thanks again. _________________ It is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. -- Carl Sagan |
