Sticking to my schedule of posting once every 9 or 10 months or so.....

I am DESPERATE to get out and hike. Kids sports plays hell with a weekend schedule.

Towards the goal or relieving a serious itch for a hike, I'm going to do a fe warm-up hikes, then I want to do a hike in the Pinaleno mountains (or nearby areas) such as the Ash Creek or Bassett Peak.

Having never done either, I'd love to have some company. I'd also like some advice for the best time to go.

Anyone care to aid the prodigal child?

check out some of the meetup groups.
I know Alt Club out of Tucson is going as well as Tucson Backpackers the first weekend of November.
I can post it for November 13 for this group since I have to dogsit the first weekend of November.

I would carcamp since even from Tucson it's a long drive down there.

The fall color along Ash Creek (Galiuros) is usually gone by Thanksgiving.

Escudilla north slope has been yellow for awhile, and I expect south side will be starting, too. I plan to hike it next weekend.

South Fork yesterday, I saw a couple aspens turning, but the poison ivy really was pretty! All kinds of yellow and red and orange! Wink
