I'm headed out this morning for a 3 day backpacking trip deep in the heart of the Blue Range Primitive Area, wolf recovery area, etc. Several people from Tucson and Phoenix are joining me.

Stay tuned for trip report and photos!

I am trying out my new Golite Quest backpack. I definitely need to replace my trad backpacking gear now, since it will barely fit in there! Time for a hammock for some hikes, and a silnylon tarp for the rest, and a 1 pound sleeping bag, soda can stove, etc.

Turned out to be a great trip!

But I came home to find out that our high school is pretty much destroyed by small plane crashing into the roof on Friday. Very sad. Sad You probably saw it on the news. It's only 5 blocks from my house, and I work right across the street (school bus).

I did see that on the news. I heard school was out at the time which is a blessing. Do they know why it crashed?

Yes, more or less--see my thread on HAZ, and I will post one on here later on.
