Hi All -

Keith Beaty and I recently completed a Tanner - Escalante - New Hance hike. To read that, go here:

Great trip report and pictures, that was one of my favorite sections to hike. I did it the other way around though. That's sweet you've managed to hitch a ride 3 times around the slide. We got to climb up it which we both preferred over the thought of climbing down it. One slip and that is a nasty tumble.

Thanks for the report of the "new" tarp tents as well. I was going to ask how you liked it, but then you wrote about it.

Looks like you just need the Gems and the Royal arch loop to finish up the south rim.

Tim -

I've done a South Bass - Tonto - Boucher hike a couple of years ago. That trip report is in my Reports Section. The Royal Arch route is on my "Bucket List."

Oh I missed that one then skimming over your trips. We did Royal Arch a few years ago now, seems like yesterday. My report is here:

I see your in Oklahoma, that must be a more difficult trip coming out here than it is for most of us.

Tim - It's a bummer. 16 hours one way from my house to the South Rim. I drive that straight though and then usually recover the next day before hiking after that.
