Some of the state parks are lease, wonder what would happen if the state did not make payments. Some were gifts to the state provided the remain a state park. Think LDSP was originally BLM land. May see some revert to private vendor and or local operations but would remain a state park in name only.

Homolovi has some BLM parts. It will just revert to BLM control, I was told last night by someone who works closely with that park.

Oracle State Park was a gift from Defenders of Wildlife. I wonder if they are about to get it back.

My sister told me that many volunteers were willing to man the parks but the state turned them down

Oh, yeah, wouldn't you know it. Too many liability issues, no doubt...and then you have to pay someone to train and direct the volunteers, etc. Sigh...

Well, Lyman Lake may have help from Apache County and the local towns. Not sure in what capacity, but they are working on it. The dam and the water belong to the St. Johns Irrigation District. (I think I can get my kayak in there just by going on the dam road.)
