I've got some .mov files that my imovie 8 doesn't seem to like. I can't import them like the help menu says. I think I need to convert them mp4 but really don't want to pay for anymore software. Any ideas?

I've been uploading to youtube and then using kick or pwn to pull and convert but these are files that are too large to get on youtube. I know there must be another way.

Any ideas?

from the Adobe Premier message board, they recommend: ImToo. (imtoo.com)

I haven't used it in quite sometime as my Premier program now accepts .mov files. ImToo is recommended also by CNET.com.

if you go to the site, on the right hand side toward the middle it says free download or you can sometimes go to cnet.com and get the free download too.
