I got a job!

I actually had applied at two resorts for this type of recreation guide job. I first applied at Greer Lodge and later at Hidden Meadow Ranch, near Greer. I got the one at Hidden Meadow Ranch! www.hiddenmeadow.com It is a really swanky guest ranch, rated #1 guest ranch in the US by Conde Nast (whatever that is.) $600 a night, just in case you are interested in staying there! I am to start next week with training. I will be on a schedule every day, first taking the guests on a hike, then doing fly fishing, archery, BB guns, wood crafts, leather crafts and occasionally canoeing. There are also special things they do with guests from time to time, including what they call a "pack trip." Turns out this is a combo of backpacking and horse packing. Hope I get to go on one of those!

Hope to find someone to carpool with! It's 17 miles from here, 7 of it dirt. It's a seasonal position, with options for working on-call during the slower seasons. This should work well with my other job driving the school bus.

Beautiful place! Congrats. It looks like a place that would be awesome to stay at. You'll have to let us know if you get an employee discount Laughing

Congrats! How far from Greer Lodge and/or Northwoods Rd as it sounds like the middle of the forest?

I'm going to explore Baldy area tomorrow/Monday via new East Trail lot to the peak. Word I got from a Tues hike was still waist deep snow on parts of Baldy... No mtn biking either this weekend on Sunrise due to snow.

Actually, Hidden Meadow Ranch is not in Greer. It is on the other side of 260, near Green's Peak and Carnero Lake, on FR 118. On the FS map it shows as "Hall's" ranch. It's also not far from that old off-the-grid cabin development called Green's Peak Hideaway. (A neat area!) A few years ago, Hidden Meadow was called Aspen Meadow, but the name was changed when it was sold.

Anyone have a very cheap old four-banger for sale? I need a car to commute there. I have a big gas hog.

I think someone was selling their Jeep before they left town. Not sure what the status is there.

Thanks, Suz. I'm broke at the moment, though. Have to wait for a paycheck, or get (another Crying or Very sad ) loan!
