I could see the smoke plume of the Flagstaff fire while driving south out of Grand Canyon today. It looked pretty large, even from (I'm guessing) 50+ miles away. |

I've had no problems with hard plastic containers in the canyon. I've used both those and the hanging stuff sack and never lost any food. I haven't camped at Cottonwood, but it's survived at other w ... |

Cycle up the steep switchbacks into Jerome and do the tourist thing in town. For more fun, continue on up the hill to top, then reverse and ride back down. Lots of photo ops along the route.
