Here in the Seattle area they are threatening to close Mt Si, which I'd say gets similar traffic to Camelback!

Starters are pretty fool proof so I doubt that you are getting bad starters.

Did anyone check the starter relay? That could be bad too (cheap part, fails frequently).

A bad ground connection ...
