An autobiographical account of Katie Lee written in her unique humerous style of an unbridled growing up in Tucson in the day when there were no tourists in Sabino Canyon, no parking lot, hunting on Mt Lemmon, her cohorts in her escapades, her drive to make it in Hollywood, and her growing love of the canyon country.
Her relationship to many people important to her, her complicated relationship with her mother ( and whose isn't at times), to her major love of her life, and people in "the business".
She discusses Ed Abbey, her river friends, and other places she explored outside of her home Glen Canyon. She includes some journal entries that are wonderful and intimate, like her other book.

Here is a quote I just love:
"You will never be homesick until you have a home.
You will not suffer "reentry syndrome" until you've been out of this world. Until you have touched, seen, become a part of the Other World, heard its call, and felt the magnetic pull to go back out of this world and return to Nature's.
The frustration of not being able to explain the Other World to someone who hasn't been there. Where one will feel ostracized by this disconnection, another will feel aloof and pleased. Some will be angry, some joyous, others thwarted and disgusted with the world they live and work in. Some even feel guilty for having experienced what the others have not and cannot share."

Well said.
