Romantic visual writing of a uranium "boom" town that was shortlived and is now under Lake Powell near the Hite marina area. Boyhood recollections of the primitive life at that time, and the matchless beauty of the North Wash area--- also written about by Ed Abbey--along with the authors perspective returning to the area later in life.

I just finished this book. Very "homey" rememberances of childhood in a special place and time. Enjoyable. I have to go back up there and look for some of the places mentioned.
